Tonight, My Mom, Desiree and I went to the Huntington Library to see Jenny Green talk on Black Holes.  Did you know that all galaxies that are rounded in shape have at least one black hole?  And did you know that only some of the flat galaxies have a black hole?

Desiree, my eleven year old daughter wanted to see that lecture.  She was likely the youngest person in attendance – and she was very attentive and soaked up more of what was said than my Mom and I combined. 

What a treat that the Huntington Library in San Marino holds these types of seminars and puts them on for free with refreshments served.  Next Monday, Vera Rubin will be talking on Dark Matter.  Should be interesting. We plan to be there as well, even if it is about a three hour drive during traffic.
