On April 19, Vera Rubin, a distinguished astronomer gave a lecture at the Huntington Library. She talked on her theory of Dark Matter. It was a very interesting lecture.

What I got out of it was

1. The existence of Dark Matter is a theory to explain why the rotations of the out-lying stars and planets do not follow the Newtonian theory of gravity.

2. Our galaxy and the Andromeda galaxy will eventually collide – creating a beautiful scene to anyone who may be available and very far away to witness it.

Enjoy the lecture.
